a picture worth 1000 words
I felt a little embarrassed about posting such a nothing entry yesterday. THEN, I got a tip that our grand-daughter got some new photos made at this site.
The site is http://stacyandmary.typepad.com/
The previews of this photo session are amazingly cute! Here is a sample:
I think that photography is an art, but it also requires that you treat your subjects courteously and with respect. A photographer should also be able to handle the business side of his or her work, deliver work as promised and according to contract and agreements that have been made.
Unfortunately we are still having problems with the photographer that we used for Sara's wedding. The wedding was mid-June and we still don't have the orderable prints (his contract indicated we'd have them in 60 days or we would deserve a refund). It has been frustrating, and I'm reminded that until we have these, it would not be in our best interest to complain too loudly and strongly, especially on the internet.

and what's my point?
The sky reddened at the end of the day, and now days are ending about 7:00 p.m. I always remember the saying: "Red sky at morning, sailors take warning. Red sky at night, sailors delight." It works pretty well, since most days have been clear lately.
I changed a flight to visit Indiana - It isn't the state I miss, it is my kids! I'm now a card-carrying Floridian, ready to vote in the next primary! I still need to get the car insured and tag it down here, and will get that done before next week is out.
The point of this post: things are slow in Florida.

pink jacket, revised
I did re-do the jacket. It only makes sense to do it right. Taking out tight stitches is annoying if not frustrating, but I did it. Btw, those words were Arya's first 4-word sentence: I did it, Mommy. She was talking about going potty :-)
Here she is in her pink jacket.

Junonia entry #2
When I went back and read some of the old entries, I wanted to add this photograph of a junonia. No, the shelling hasn't been very good, but the beach is great early in the morning. Plus, another good thing is that we are more than halfway through hurricane season. That is a relief for both coasts, and all the way across the Gulf to Texas! Happy Birthday, Donna!
