Double-booking and Forgetfulness,: I need a personal manager

Sometimes it seems I need a personal manager. I forget things...regularly.

I would like to believe that this is a temporary quirk of mine or a result of some stress (who, me?)or even age-related loss of memory, but I have to admit that this has been true since I was very young. I can remember sitting in my 5th grade class (no, I don't mean I was teaching. It was when I was a 5th grader). Once again I had forgotten to bring along some required note or assignment that was out of the ordinary. I'd been reminded again to bring it. I sat there in my little desk
...and I wondered if I would ever be able to do the right thing and remember my notes, permission slips, list of things to do, etc., etc. Fortunately, my teacher, Mrs. Gerhardt, liked me. She was kind of mean to the kids that she didn't like.

Sometimes this forgetfulness continues and I make two plans for the same date/time. Even this week I asked the kids over for dinner on Monday, the same time I suggested that my friend, Karen, and I go to dinner. This gets me in binds! I had to change plans, backtrack, and re-group because of my double-booking.

Last night when we DID have dinner here (with MY Karen, not my friend, Karen) I was trying to recall what I did on Sunday.
Karen said, "you were in Anderson."
me, "oh, yeah ... But what was I doing in Anderson?"
Karen, "You got the dogs groomed."
"yeah. Thanks."

I guess yesterday that Karen was my was my personal manager.

Because I DO need help, I depend on my calendar. I learned to do that when all the kids had so many activities. Now, I just have to remember to look at the calendar.
