What happened to Fall?
It's finally done: the warehouse and the office are no longer ours, and we have moved or thrown away ALL the stuff. Ray worked tiredly (as opposed to tirelessly) since about the 2nd week of October. We had help from family and friends, and we could not have done it without them. I know Ray lost weight, and may have built muscle. He's not so sure, he just knows he hurts all over.
The new owners are the ECI church that had met at the Horizon Center for the past 7-8 years. They are happy to have a permanent meeting place. We are happy to be relieved of all the responsibility, plus the fact that it will be used by a church. People ask me how they are going to use the buildings, and I am not completely sure. They still own land a mile from our (former) property, and for the time being they will be having Sunday services in the large warehouse, with offices and Sunday school classes in the front/office building.
We are relieved of having employees, taxes, insurance, utility bills, and maintenance of it all. I don't have to spray the parking lot with Round-up any more. Sara doesn't have to mow. I don't have to pull weeds or pick up trash in the yard. Plus, the work of selling the equipment is done (mostly) although at some point I'll have to have a big garage sale. There is a ton of stuff still stored in a unit, but basically, the biggest part of it all is behind us.
Somehow in all of this move, we even got Ben and Liz married! It was the EASY (and FUN) part of all of our work! It deserves more of an entry, so maybe I'll get to that. It's just hard to realize that tomorrow is DECEMBER, and I wonder, "What happened to Fall?"
