FLOYD LANDIS
I just read an article that got me so pumped that I have to make an entry on here. This is the subject:
FLOYD LANDIS - TOUR DE FRANCE - HE COULD TAKE THE PODIUM and WE ARE GOING!
The article was in OUTSIDE magazine, it was about Floyd, and we have been a fan of his for the past two years (Liz can claim longer than this.) I have been lucky enough to see the Tour in 2004 and 2005. My one regret is that for one reason or another, I have never been on the Champs Ellyses to SEE an American stand and hear the national anthem played for him. THIS year, we (Sara, Liz, and I) will be there, and this could be it!
Last year we (Liz and I) watched as Floyd rode at the heel of Lance Armstrong. We knew there was intense rivalry, and time after time we saw George Hincapie, Lance Armstrong, Jan Ullrich, and Floyd riding side-by-side. Up the steep mountains, the leaders of the race were tightly climbing. The photos were amazing, the memories embedded in our minds. Now, we just want Floyd to excel even more!
This year Lance is retired. Yes, there are other favorites (Jan Ullrich, Ivan Basso) but Liz and I are firm believers and cheerers-on for Floyd. He's amazingly strong in mind, physique, training and strategy. They say he has "it."
If ANYONE reads this, watch the news and info on Floyd Landis' progress. I simply want to say that I am a fan, I believe he can win the Tour, and I hope he does. I hope you can say, "I read it could happen when I read Carol's blog."
I'll be there to watch, Floyd. See you there!
